Learn From Your Neighbor with Letitia Thomas-Skalicky: Life in Thailand
Thursday, February 22
6–8PM
@ The YES! House
726 Prentice St, Granite Falls, MN
Learn From Your Neighbor events are BACK at the YES! House and we are super excited to continue to celebrate our neighbor's talents, passions and skills with the rest of the community. Join Letitia at The YES! House on Thursday, February 22nd from 6-8 PM as she shares her love and appreciation for the country she was born in, Thailand!
Letitia Thomas-Skalicky has been an active community member in the area for the last two years. She started the Granite Falls Anything Goes Facebook page in March 2022 because she noticed a disconnect between community events and knowledge of those events from community members. She is Secretary of the Granite Falls Historical Society board and created the Western Fest Her Story display for the Society this year. Her varied interests in music, drama, history, religion, and literature stem from living in Asia. She has lived in Thailand, Malaysia, China and the US. “The culture shock is real when coming back to the US. Thailand will always be my home. I love sharing the culture and my life with others. For this presentation I will present my respect and appreciation of my home with pictures and a small Thai meal. I'm looking forward to my first Yes! House event! I've been to many of their events and I love the space they provide within our community!”
This event series is supported in part by grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council made possible by the voters of Minnesota, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
